だれもが、その人らしく輝ける社会。この揺るぎないビジョンのもと、私、寺嶋康浩は、15年以上にわたるボディワークの深遠な探求と、そこから生まれた「ソマティック・アート」という独自の表現を通し、人々の内なる可能性と生命の躍動を呼び覚ましています。
私の創作活動の根底には、母方の祖父が真言密教の阿闍梨であったという血筋が流れています。その精神性は、Unfolding Bodyworkを通じて培われた内なる探求、そしてソマティック・アートで表現される生命の躍動に深く影響を与えています。
Unfolding Bodywork：内なる解放の源流
私が創始したUnfolding Bodyworkは、単なる身体への手技を超えた、深い哲学と実践です。15年以上にわたり、3000人以上の心身と深く向き合ってきた経験から生まれたこのアプローチは、日々の生活で無意識に積み重ねられた緊張や感情の滞りを、優しく、しかし確実に解き放つことを目指します。
まるで花が自然に開花するように、私たちは本来持っている軽やかさ、自由さ、そして自己を調整する力を思い出すことができます。これは、表面的なリラックスに留まらず、本質的な自己回復力と活力を呼び覚ます、深い対話です。
このボディワークを通じて、私は数多くの人々と向き合い、彼らが内なる変容を経験し、より「その人らしく」生きていく姿を目の当たりにしてきました。その一つひとつの体験が、私の創造性の源泉となり、次なる表現へと駆り立てる揺るぎない原動力となっています。
Somatic Art：生命エネルギーの爆発、魂のポートレート
Unfolding Bodyworkで培われた「内なる解放」の知見は、私のソマティック・アートへと昇華されました。私の絵画は、単なる視覚的な表現ではありません。それは、音楽と身体の衝動が一体となり、内なる生命エネルギーが色彩となって爆発する、まさに「魂のポートレート」です。
キャンバス上での筆致は、計算されたものではなく、身体を通して流れ出る生命の躍動そのものです。内に秘めた感情、無意識の記憶、そして本来の輝きが、形となり、色となり、見る人の心に深く共鳴するように描かれます。
私の作品には、独自の回転式展示器具が付属し、「共同創造者：Co-Creation（共創）」という概念を導入しています。これは、作品が手元に届いた後も、鑑賞者が自由に作品を回転させることで、その時々の感情や空間に合わせて新たな表情を発見し、作品の「完成」に深く関わることを意味します。この体験は、Unfolding Bodyworkの哲学と同様に、受け取る側自身の内なる探求と解放を促します。
ライブペインティングにおいては、音楽と一体となった身体表現を通じて、その場に集う人々の原初的な表現力を呼び覚ます「儀式」となります。観る者は、単なる傍観者ではなく、私のアートの生成プロセスと、自身の内なる生命の躍動が重なり合う瞬間を体験することでしょう。
作品を回転させる意味：視点の解放と温かい共感の創造
この回転という行為には、より深い意味が込められています。
私たちはしばしば、固定された原理原則やルール、「答えは一つ」という思い込みに縛られ、苦しみを生み出しています。物事は多面的であり、捉え方次第で感じ方が大きく変わるものです。作品を自身の手で回転させる体験は、この固定された視点から自らを解き放つための、シンプルでありながら強力なステップです。異なる角度から作品を見ることで、新たな構図や表情、感情が湧き上がり、この「感じ方が変わる経験」こそが、仏教でいう「観自在」の境地へと繋がります。視点を自在に変えることができれば、物事の捉え方が変わり、それによって感じる苦しみが和らぐことを体感できるでしょう。
さらに、この回転は「否定できないコミュニケーション」を生み出します。かつて個展で、見知らぬ人々が作品を囲み、回転させながら感じたことを語り合う光景を目にしました。人が「感じたこと」は、論理的に否定することができません。この「受け入れることしかできないコミュニケーション」は、肩書きや背景を超え、互いの感覚を共有し、共感し合う、温かい繋がりを創造します。それは、アートが持つ根源的な力であり、人々が「じぶんらしく」存在し、互いを認め合う社会を具現化するものです。
生き方そのものが価値となる社会へ
私のすべての活動の根底には、「合同会社じぶんらしく」のミッションがあります。

I believe in a society where everyone can shine authentically. With this unwavering vision, I, Yasuhiro Terashima, dedicate myself to awakening people’s inner potential and the vibrancy of life through over 15 years of profound exploration in bodywork, and my unique expression: “Somatic Art.”
The foundation of my creative pursuits is deeply rooted in my heritage; my maternal grandfather was an Ajari of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism. This spiritual lineage profoundly influences my inner exploration through Unfolding Bodywork and the vibrant expression of life in my Somatic Art.
Unfolding Bodywork: The Origin of Inner Liberation
Unfolding Bodywork, which I founded, is more than just a physical technique; it’s a profound philosophy and practice. Born from over 15 years of deeply engaging with the minds and bodies of over 3,000 individuals, this approach gently yet surely releases unconscious tension and emotional blockages accumulated from daily life.
Just as a flower naturally unfolds, we are guided to remember our inherent lightness, freedom, and self-regulating power. This isn’t just about superficial relaxation; it’s a deep dialogue that awakens our fundamental self-healing abilities and vitality.
Through this bodywork, I’ve had the privilege of working with countless individuals, witnessing their profound inner transformations and their journey to living more authentically. Each of these experiences has become a wellspring of my creativity, a powerful driving force propelling me towards new forms of expression.
Somatic Art: An Explosion of Life Energy, a Portrait of the Soul
The insights gained through “inner liberation” from Unfolding Bodywork have culminated in my Somatic Art. My paintings are not merely visual expressions; they are “portraits of the soul” where music and physical impulse merge, and inner life energy explodes into color.
My brushstrokes on the canvas are not calculated; they are the pure vibrancy of life flowing through my body. Buried emotions, unconscious memories, and innate brilliance take form and color, resonating deeply within the hearts of those who view them.
My artworks feature a unique rotating fixture, embodying the concept of “Co-Creation.” This means that even after a piece is acquired, the viewer can freely rotate it, discovering new compositions and expressions that adapt to their current emotions or the energy of their space, thus becoming deeply involved in the artwork’s “completion.” This experience, much like the philosophy of Unfolding Bodywork, encourages the recipient’s own inner exploration and liberation.
During live painting performances, my bodily expression, harmonized with music, becomes a “ritual” to awaken the primordial expression within the audience. Viewers are not mere spectators; they experience a moment where the creative process of my art converges with the vibrancy of their own inner life.
The Meaning of Rotating the Artwork: Liberation of Perspective and the Creation of Warm Connection
This act of rotation holds a deeper meaning.
We often find ourselves trapped by fixed principles, rules, and the misconception that there is only one right answer, which can lead to suffering. Yet, things are multifaceted, and how we perceive them profoundly changes how we feel. The experience of physically rotating an artwork is a simple yet powerful step towards freeing oneself from these fixed perspectives. By viewing the work from different angles, new compositions, expressions, and emotions emerge. This “experience of changing perception” directly leads to the state of “Kanjizai” in Buddhism – the freedom to perceive reality as it is. When you can freely shift your perspective, your perception changes, your feelings transform, and you come to understand that suffering need not exist.
Furthermore, this rotation fosters “undeniable communication.” At a past exhibition, I witnessed strangers gathering around a piece, rotating it, and sharing their feelings. What one “feels” cannot be logically refuted. This “communication that cannot be denied” creates an incredibly warm and pure exchange, where people accept each other without judgment. It transcends superficial differences like titles, names, beliefs, or backgrounds, allowing individuals to share their sensations and empathize, becoming like old friends.
This is precisely the inherent power of art, and my works serve as a medium for creating a society where people can exist authentically and embrace one another. They embody the multifaceted nature of “living true to oneself” and the rich society that emerges from it.
Towards a Society Where Authenticity is Valued
